NOMINATIONS OPEN FOR 2019 HERO DOG AWARDS
December 9, 202121ST SECURITY FORCES SQUADRON – MILITARY WORKING DOG UNIT, PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE
December 9, 2021VCA Ohio Region C7 & Specialty Hospitals Region CS4 collected donations by encouraging clients to round up their transaction amounts to the nearest dollar or donate online. The campaign raised just over $20,000 to support Project Paws Alive who is dedicated to providing protective K9 safety equipment to underfunded Law Enforcement K9s units nationwide. This donation will enable Project Paws Alive to continue our important work in communities, protecting law enforcement K9s with such items as bulletproof vests, military grade first aid kits with narcan, specialized cooling vests, and hot n’pop vehicle heat alarm systems.
“A donation of this size is significant for us,” commented Cheryl Allen, President at Project Paws Alive. “It costs $1,400 per vest, $350 per first aid kit, and at least $6,000 for a complete vehicle heat alarm system and the nationwide demand for equipment by underfunded K9 units is much higher than the supply of funds so this donation will absolutely go to good use.”
